Two large leather couches with 4 easy chairs will seat you all in deep comfort for your social time in the gathering room.
Please confine your smoking to the porch. Good news is, the porch has a glider! (From the front entry.) This grand from Germany in 1902, has a rich tone and responsive touch and beautiful walnut cabinet (From the kitchen.) GREAT natural light; two opening sky lights and large windows. Comfortable furniture may be rearranged. Cable T.V. and VCR.

Got kids you want to keep an eye on but out from underfoot? This is the perfect room for their activity.

"Ensemble in the garden", by Colette Barrier, hangs in the Gathering Room. Enjoy wisteria in a lush garden all year long without raking leaves here in Karen Wallach's mural.

The balcony leads to the bedrooms on the second floor but is also a great place to be a "fly on the wall" or sit in the window seat there and enjoy a book and music. (See "second floor rooms").

A large front porch is the warm place to spend an evening when the wind is up on the water side of the house. It's amazing that 30' can make you feel like you are in a different country.
